David Lyttle is a drummer & composer performing extensively on the Irish jazz scene. Originally from Co. Armagh, he is a graduate of the University of Ulster & has received scholarships to study at the Banff Centre Jazz Workshop (Canada), where he worked with Dave Douglas, & Skidmore Jazz Institute (New York) David received private tuition in New York with drummers such as John Riley, Carl Allen, Jeff ‘Tain’ Watts, Ari Hoenig and Ralph Peterson.
Lyttle has performed with leading Irish players such as Michael Buckley, Ritchie Buckle, Nigel Mooney, and Louis Stewart to name a few. He has also worked with American musicians, Jamie Baum, Carlo DeRosa, Ken Peplowski, Roberta Piket. David Lyttle performs original music in a straight-ahead & contemporary swing idioms.
